2026 DEMOCRACY DAY: “THE LABOUR OF OUR HEROES PAST SHALL NOT BE IN VAIN” – ENGR. OROBOSA ASHAKAH
The All Progressives Congress, APC, Candidate for Isoko North State Constituency, Engr. Orobosa Uzuazomaro Ashakah, has urged all Nigerians, particularly Isoko North constituents, to continue to have absolute faith in Nigeria’s democratic system of government.
He said the labour of our heroes past and living for democracy shall never be in vain, urging all Nigerians to reflect on the beauty of democracy.
Engr. Ashakah noted that democracy was fought for with the blood, sweat, and tears of Nigerians. Some are alive today, others paid the supreme price. Therefore, we must all join hands to sustain it.
He applauded the unity, sacrifices, and tolerance of Nigerians for sustaining the current democratic dispensation. Nigeria has now enjoyed 27 years of unbroken civilian rule since May 29, 1999.
He advised Nigerians not to be discouraged by prevailing circumstances. He expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is fixing Nigeria through his long-term policies and programs under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which our amiable Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, is consolidating in Delta State through his MORE Agenda that is visible to all Deltans.
Engr. Ashakah reiterated that the worst democratic government is far better than the best military government anywhere in the world. He appealed to Nigerians to continue to support democracy in order to enjoy freedom of speech, freedom of association, a more united Nigeria, and more dividends of democracy.
