
The House of Representative on Health has commended the Delta State Government for its remarkable achievements in revitalizing and improving the state’s health sector.
The commendation was made during an oversight visit to the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, at his office in the State Secretariat Complex, Asaba, by members of the Federal House Committee on Health.

Chairman of House Committee on Health, Federal House of Assembly , Hon. Akiba Bassey, stated that the team was highly impressed with the state of facilities inspected during the visit. He noted that the purpose of the visit was not only to assess progress but also to share experiences on the successes and challenges encountered in strengthening healthcare delivery at both state and federal levels.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Joseph Onojaeme, acknowledged the positive impact of Federal Government interventions in the state’s health sector, describing it as significant and far-reaching.

Dr. Onojaeme explained that most of the ongoing health projects in the state have reached advanced stages, with several at about 85 percent completion. He reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare delivery through investment in manpower development and the provision of modern equipment.
The Commissioner further stated that while the health sector remains resource-intensive, the State Government continues to prioritize it as a critical area of human development. He appealed to the Federal Government for sustained and increased support to ensure the continued advancement of healthcare services in Delta State.
